The Second Annual RV Technical Institute Top Tech Challenge, will pit some of the best service techs in the country against each other in a winner-take-all, live competition, to diagnose RV service issues the fastest. The event will highlight the industry-wide need for bringing in more qualified technicians that will help improve the consumer RV experience.
And the winner will take home a $10,000 grand prize and the title of Top Tech!
The Top Tech Challenge is designed to elevate the prestige of service technicians nationwide, increase the quality of service available to consumers, and raise awareness to attract more talent to the field.
Bradley Wingfield – McClain’s RV Superstore
Bradley Wingfield began his career in 1994 building the living quarters in high-end horse trailers. Custom Interiors was a small business that grew from four individuals to a thriving company of more than 40 employees. In 2005, he made the transition from horse trailers to the RV industry, working as a technician for RV Station in Oklahoma. Brad relocated to Texas and began working for McClain’s RV Superstore in 2010. He achieved master certification in 2011 through RVIA/RVDA. It was here that Brad fulfilled several roles which included: Technician, Lead Technician and Service Manager. He currently serves as a Shop Foreman at McClain’s RV. He finds a particular passion in solving technical issues. Brad is a quality leader and has excelled within the RV industry.
Chris Page – Affinity RV
Chris was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He enjoys being in the shop and working alongside his family. He likes figuring out the problems an RV has and then getting them fixed. He is very proud and happy to have been chosen to be part of the Challenge. He is looking forward to using the skills he’s learned over the years at the Challenge. In his spare time, he likes to shoot both bow and rifle and going to off road races. Chris is married and the proud papa of a one-year old son.
John Larson – Nevada Mobile RV Service
John Larson from Minden, Nevada, began working on RVs in 1982. After seven years, he decided to create his own business, Nevada Mobile RV Service, and they just celebrated their 30th anniversary. John received his RVIA Master Certification in 2000. Since then, he has continued to take most of the classes offered in order to keep up with the latest technology. John loves working on the multiple generations of RVs today. After being accepted into the 1st Top Tech Challenge and finishing in 2nd place, John is really looking forward to this year’s competition.
Aaron Bashore – Tom Schaeffer’s Camping and Travel Center
Tom Schaeffer’s Camping and Travel Center is a family-owned business started in 1955 by Tom Schaeffer Sr. Tom has always put a strong emphasis on providing excellent service for the customer. Tom’s emphasis for excellent service is why Aaron is participating in the Top Tech Challenge.
Thomas Gordon – Camping World
As a young man at the age of 14, Thomas Gordon’s father was the owner of a large Toyota car dealership. His fascination with RVs since the late 80’s led him to the factories in California and he became a dealer for National RV. Thomas was intrigued by the RV lifestyle and production of these amazing machines and found himself wanting to know everything about them. They started a family business, Gordon Enterprises, a factory direct warranty center in FL in February of 1992, and it was from then on that he visited and trained with every possible manufacturer in the market. Thomas was proudly allowed to study through the RVIA mentor program, tested for the Certified/Master certified levels and passed Master Certified class in 2000. He has since been recertified at Master level 3 times and has been a mentor for over ten years.
Brandon Galbreath – D&N RV Service
Brandon Galbreath has been working in the RV industry since 2001 and received his Master Certification in 2016. He has been with D&N RV Service located in Guntersville AL. D&N RV Service is a family-run business that started back in 1993. “D&N RV Service is humbled by the loyalty of our customers and the recommendations of all the RV Dealers in the area. Without all the great people who make up the RV industry meeting our customers’ needs would be impossible.” said Ken Nix, Owner.
